Ultimate Guide To Boosting Startup Speed

This guide will show you how to boost computer startup speed buy using all cores (threads) available and unique to your computer.  I will also show how to check which programs are slowing down your startup speed.

Part 1

1.  Type "msconfig" in search bar and press enter.  Click the Boot tab up top.



2.  Check "No GUI Boot", then change timeout to 10 seconds.  Lastly Click advanced options.



3.  First click "number of processors and in drop down change to highest number.  Then Check maximum memory.  If it makes you feel better, change the 0 to the highest number allowed.  Lastly Click Ok at the bottom.



4.  Click apply and you will have to restart your computer.




Part 2

1.  Press "ctrl+alt+delete" to open task manager.  Then Click "Startup" at the top.



2.  You can now see all your programs impacting startup speed.  Also Startup impact is listed.  Programs with "high" next to them are greatly impacting your startup speed.



3.  Determine which programs you can easily open once you are logged in.  Steam slows startup a lot, so you can highlight steam and then click disable at the bottom.  Do this for any programs you don't need instantly when you login.  This will boost your computer booting speed.
